Battle's Over - A Nation's Tribute Events - 3rd & 11th November
On the evening of Remembrance Day - Sunday 11th November, New
Milton along with more than a 1,000 cities, towns and villages will
commemorate the end of the Great War in their "Battle's Over - A
Nation's Tribute" on the clifftop at Barton on Sea. The preceeding
week, on Saturday 3rd November, there is a commemorative concert at
The Memorial Centre - "Pack Up Your Troubles"

In New Milton and in towns across the New Forest, organisations,
local community groups and historical associations, will also be
rememembering the time when the guns fell silent across Europe and
commemorating the coming of the peace. In this section of the web

Over - A Nation's Tribute" in New Milton is a major town event put
together by a small steering group involving a number of local
community organisations and the New Milton Town Council and staged
with the assistance of a number of local service groups including
The Lions Club of New Milton and New Milton Round Table, Milton
Heritage Society and
individuals too numerous to detail.
profits made from the two events or collections taken at: the "Pack
Up Your Troubles" commemorative concert on Saturday 3rd November and
the main free "Battle's Over - A Nation's Tribute event of the
clifftop at Barton on Sea on the evening of the 11th November, will
be distributed between, The British Legion Poppy Appeal, SAFA
- the Armed Forces charity, formerly known as Soldiers, Sailors,
Airmen and Families Association, The Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund
and The Royal Naval Association.
